Learn how to properly recycle your Innersense products in this guide created in partnership with How2Recycle.
The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that about 75% of the waste produced in the US is recyclable; yet the actual recycling rate is only 34%, and the average recycling contamination rate is 25%—one in every four items. Even more, when one item is improperly put into a recycling bin, it can cause contamination, which means the whole bin may be discarded. We want to do everything we can to make sure you have the information you need to ensure our packaging actually gets recycled.
How2Recycle® Label
Every Innersense bottle has a partner label from How2Recycle® which provides guidance on disposal based on the average recycling laws across the country. Keep in mind that every local recycling program has unique rules about what it accepts. Before recycling, it’s always best to check your local recycling program's rules about what they accept for guidance on disposal. For recycling information by product, please visit that product page on the website.
Recyclable Bottles
In order to recycle any plastic or glass bottle, it must first be cleaned. Rinse the inside of the bottle with water. Place in normal curbside plastic recycling.
Non-Recyclable
The pump on our bottles, like most pumps, is made of multiple materials and a small spring, which unfortunately makes it non-recyclable. Our 2oz and 6oz tubes and pouches are also not recyclable as they include mixed materials and adhesives, however, we opt for these materials because they limit overall plastic usage in the first place. These components can be dropped off or mailed into Pact Collective, a non-profit collective providing solutions for difficult to recycle components in the beauty industry.
