Sunflower Seed Oil

Amazing Benefits of Sunflower Seed Oil for Hair Health

We love the mighty sunflower seed. Did you know it was the Native Americans who first domesticated this sunny plant into a single headed plant with a variety of seed colors? Archaeologists believe the sunflower may have been domesticated before corn; as early as 3000 BC. Native Americans knew the health benefits of those incredible seeds: They were cracked and consumed as snacks, ground into flour or mush for bread, and the meal was mixed with other vegetables. Here’s why we love it as an essential ingredient in our products:

Rich in vitamins like A, B, C and E, as well as minerals like iron, potassium and calcium, sunflower seed oil is rich in essential nutrients, antioxidants and fatty acids, all necessary for healthy hair and scalp. Sunflower seed oil is high-oleic, which means it contains an abundance of oleic acid. This Omega 9 acid is also essential to a healthy diet; it stimulates natural hair growth, and prevents brittle hair and hair loss. Sunflower seed oil is the perfect natural emollient, adding moisture and gloss without the weight and making hair smoother, shinier, stronger and healthier.

The United States and European Union are two trusted places we source our sunflower seed oil.

Similar to palm oil, isn’t sunflower seed oil also bad for the environment? I noticed you removed palm oil from your products, but not sunflower seed oil. Have other customers reached out about this concern?
