Americans Need Help: Our Partnership With Feeding America
Last year we partnered with Feeding America over Thanksgiving. Because Americans need help right now, we are inspired to partner with this organization again. As a nationwide network of 200 food banks, this organization leads the way to ensure everyone is food secure in the United States. Their food banks are trusted, community organizations committed to serving people in need.
It’s our goal to give back to our greater community. We feel it is our collective, social responsibility to look out for one another and lend a helping hand as we truly rise by lifting others.
OUR NEIGHBORS SHOULD BE FOOD SECURE
We have pledged to provide 75,000 meals to those who are food insecure as a way to give back. It may be surprising to learn how many Americans are food insecure:
- 37 million people are food insecure, including 11 million children
- 5.5 million seniors are food insecure
- 22 million children qualify for free or reduced-price lunch
Together, we provide food to more than 40 million people through 60,000 food pantries and meal programs in communities across America. In the U.S., 1 in 9 Americans struggle with hunger—and 1 in 7 children are food insecure. That means that millions of people in the U.S. struggle to obtain regular access to the nutritious meals they need.
